Even in the scorching heat, summer is still the best! I mean, what&#8217;s better than lazy days by the pool, late nights bonfires and mouthwatering food!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m talkin\u2019, sweet summertime melon, juicy berries and sticky peaches. <\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now-a-days, you can pretty much get whatever fruit you want all year long. Get handsy<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t be afraid to pick up the fruit to learn more about it.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Press the top of melons right where the stem is. If it\u2019s soft, it\u2019s ripe! Be careful to not bruise pitted fruits <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">such as peaches, apricots, plums, cherries and nectarines. Once you&#8217;ll feel it you&#8217;ll know&#8230;ripe ones are noticeably softer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"padding-left: 30px; font-weight: 500;\"><strong>2. Take a\u00a0whiff<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 500;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You&#8217;ll know when melons (and most fruit) are ripe if they smell sweet. Put your nose right up to the container of berries. I know you want to!<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"padding-left: 30px; font-size: 500;\"><strong>3.\u00a0Listen<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of my favorite tips: tap on watermelons.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you hear a hollow sound, it\u2019s ripe!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"padding-left: 30px; font-weight: 500;\"><strong>4. Eye it<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tomatoes (yes, they are a fruit!) are ready when their color is an intense red. The redder they are the more ripe. The same goes for the yellow varieties. Watermelons, on the other hand, are better when their undersides are yellow. Strange, but true. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\"><strong>5. Talk to them<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not to your fruit! Ask the vendor for help.
