It\u2019s not really warm but it\u2019s no longer winter. The weather can go from sunny and hot to wet and chilly, from one day to another. I love April because it feels like hope. It&#8217;s a positive time of rebirth and amazing beauty. I definitely have spring fever!<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-8831 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/tulips.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"397\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/tulips.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/tulips-300x198.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 397px) 100vw, 397px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why I was surprised to learn that there is a day designated as Blah Blah Blah Day. There\u2019s nothing blah about April! Blah Blah Blah Day is described as ~<em>a day to do all things everyone\u2019s been nagging you about such as quitting smoking, lose weight, gain weight, get a real job or take out the trash.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I want to reframe this day. Let\u2019s call this day Rah! Rah! Rah! Day. It just makes more sense. It\u2019s like I\u2019m giving myself permission to attack my list of to-do\u2019s and personal promises because I <em>want<\/em> to, not because someone has nagged me or I <em>ought<\/em> to do them. Rah! Rah! Rah! Day is a reminder that I\u2019m in control, and encourages me to focus on the things that will improve my day-to-day life, long-term health and happiness. Accomplishing goals and checking off items from my to-do list also helps my mental wellbeing. Let\u2019s give a cheer for Rah! Rah! Rah! Day!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sendtask.io\/blog\/why-you-should-have-a-to-do-list\/#:~:text=It%20will%20help%20you%20achieve%20big%20goals&amp;text=This%20is%20where%20a%20to,prioritize%20the%20tasks%20on%20it.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Studies show<\/a> that making lists helps us accomplish our goals. What will you add to your list to enhance your health and happiness?<\/p>\n<h2>Rah! Rah! Rah! strategies to help prioritize.<\/h2>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Step 1: Make a list of what you want to accomplish.<\/span><\/strong> Write it all down. It may look intimidating, but if these are the things you know you want to do, then it\u2019s important to note them.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Step 2: Separate your list into three sections:<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-8834 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/april-to-do-list-2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"479\" height=\"268\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/april-to-do-list-2.jpeg 850w, https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/april-to-do-list-2-300x168.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/april-to-do-list-2-768x430.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 479px) 100vw, 479px\" \/><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Easy-and-immediate<\/span><\/strong>, such as planning out the week&#8217;s meals, grocery shopping and getting the car cleaned. Checking each of these tasks off your list will give you a quick win.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Schedule-time-to-complete.<\/span><\/strong> Cleaning out your clothes closet or painting the bedroom are the types of tasks that take a bit more time and will need some pre-planning to accomplish.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Long-term-effort<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span> Examples would include going back to school, buying a new house, quitting smoking. Approach these goals with patience and planning. Even something that seems far-reaching is important to include on your list. Noting them will help you focus. Many of your goals may support each other, such as a finding a new job\u2026 that earns you more money\u2026 so you can purchase a new home.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Step 3: Prioritize within each list.<\/span><\/strong> What are the most important tasks you want to get done first? Which will enable you to do the next thing? For example, if you want to save money, what are the things you can do to help you accomplish this goal, such as tightening your grocery bill, eating out less and making more meals at home?<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-8844 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-13-at-5.49.37-PM-1024x508.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"472\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-13-at-5.49.37-PM-1024x508.png 1024w, https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-13-at-5.49.37-PM-300x149.png 300w, https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-13-at-5.49.37-PM-768x381.png 768w, https:\/\/wp2.dinnertime.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-13-at-5.49.37-PM.png 1410w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 472px) 100vw, 472px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Step 4: Make an action plan<\/span><\/strong> for each item on your list.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">easy-and-immediate<\/span><\/strong> list should be the kind of things you can get done in the next few days. Some may be things you need to do every week; so making a schedule helps you keep up with the laundry (Wednesdays) and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dinnertime.com\/plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> meal planning<\/a> (Sundays).<\/li>\n<li>The <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">schedule-time-to-complete<\/span><\/strong> list includes listing any prep work you will need to do such as purchasing paint.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Long-term-effort<\/strong><\/span> goals will require more planning and resources to accomplish. Making timelines can be helpful. Don\u2019t be afraid to ask for help. We all need some help sometimes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Step 5. What resources<\/span><\/strong> can you utilize? In today\u2019s world, helpful tips and tricks are a few clicks away. Do you have a friend who can help you rewrite your resume? Is it worth it to hire a painter so the job gets done? Your time is valuable so weigh your choices. I don&#8217;t enjoy painting so I&#8217;m willing to pay a painter. I like to save money on groceries so planning with<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dinnertime.com\/plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> DinnerTime<\/a> helps me only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dinnertime.com\/shopping_lists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">buy the things I need<\/a> and spend less of my valuable time in the grocery store. I&#8217;ve gifted myself with extra time and money by planning. They can be as simple as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dinnertime.com\/plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">plan your meals<\/a>, choose a paint color, finish a load of laundry. If you complete more than that it&#8217;s gravy! Remember to re-visit your list monthly. It\u2019s ok if things slide, but reworking your list as needed will keep that Rah! Rah! Rah! feeling throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Step 7: Reward yourself<\/span><\/strong>. The feeling of accomplishment is the best reward, but sometimes it\u2019s nice to reward yourself in other ways. Tickle your kids, read a book (without feeling like you should be doing chores), treat yourself to a special dish for dinner. Whatever makes you happy is Rah! Rah!
