I know what you are thinking, why in the world would I sing these patriotic songs by myself? Let alone in public?<\/span><\/p>\n

Because it\u2019s fun!<\/span><\/p>\n

Every year I attend an awesome Fourth of July party. Everything about the celebration is quintessentially American. I\u2019m talking lush, green lawns, red checkered table cloths, fried chicken, roasted veggies and of course, lots and lots of desserts!<\/span><\/p>\n

However, there is one thing that makes this party truly special (or nerve wrecking, depending on how you feel about singing). \u00a0Every year, like clockwork, the second the fireworks end, the hostess insists on having a sing-a-long and\u00a0<\/span>everyone<\/span><\/i>\u00a0must stand up and sing along.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the thing, I can\u2019t sing. And every year as the fireworks start, I begin to worry. And every year, as America The Beautiful starts to play, my nerves ease up.<\/span><\/p>\n

As dreadful as a sing-a-long may sound, it\u2019s actually a lot of fun! Don\u2019t tell anyone, but sometimes I tear up a bit when I sing\u00a0 the song, This Land is My Land<\/em>, it just makes me feel very appreciative for the country we live in.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, brush off your old song books, warm up your voice and get ready to start a new tradition!<\/span><\/p>\n
