I find that the perfect way to cool off is with a delicious smoothie. Although ice cream may be an easier treat to grab on a hot summer day, taking the extra step to make a\u00a0smoothie will reward you with many\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2013\/08\/03\/green-smoothies-nutrition\/2518141\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">healthy benefits<\/a>. Just make sure to be mindful of what you&#8217;re putting into your smoothie, or else it&#8217;ll end up being just as sugary as any ice cream cone. All you really need is\u00a0one or\u00a0two fruits (frozen or fresh) to get that\u00a0sweet flavor, perhaps some nutrient-rich\u00a0vegetables, and a base such as\u00a0almond milk, yogurt or\u00a0coconut milk. Once you&#8217;ve channeled your inner mixologist, you&#8217;ll be able to get a wide variety of nutrients and vitamins in the fastest way possible. Not only that, but you&#8217;ll\u00a0also be able to build muscle and improve your athletic performance by consistently fueling your body with the healthy ingredients\u00a0that are in\u00a0your smoothie.
