For some people, the word \u201cchange\u201d worries them. What is changing? I just got used to the way it is. Will I like the change? Of course, as they say, &#8220;The only constant in life is change.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Change can indeed be<em>\u00a0<\/em>hard. By nature, we become comfortable with what we know. Changing schools, changing jobs, changing homes are all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/balance\/guide\/causes-of-stress#1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">big changes that can cause high levels of stress<\/a>. Even small changes can seem stressful, and can be hard to manage. Whether deliberately or unconsciously, what we do each day to get through the day as smoothly as possible builds habits. We rely on these habits so much that changing them can be a real challenge. We naturally resist change even when we know it will help. Studies show it can take months to fully change a habit.<\/p>\n<p>The thing is, c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gse.harvard.edu\/news\/uk\/15\/07\/be-change\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hange is important to growth<\/a>. I\u2019m referring to personal and professional growth. So I don\u2019t want to see change as hard or bad. Instead, I try to replace the word \u201cchange\u201d with the positive word \u201cimprovement.\u201d To me, improvement is a success. I&#8217;m training myself to look for ways to improve. Life is pretty good, but my home can be improved, my relationships can be improved, and my daily habits can be improved. This is my &#8220;glass-half-full\u201d perspective. Bring it on, \u2018cause I want to improve!<\/p>\n<p>DinnerTime is no different. We like the way things are working, but\u00a0<em>always <\/em>look for ways to improve and delight our members. We have lively brainstorming sessions where we wonder, \u201cWouldn\u2019t it be cool if DinnerTime could do &#8216;this&#8217; or &#8216;that&#8217;?\u201d It\u2019s fun to think up these improvements, and then we get to work! We do a lot of testing and reworking with our amazing team. Even as we make improvements to the site, these changes generate more ideas. Success! Sometimes, the little improvements can make the biggest difference to my everyday happiness.<\/p>\n<p>Embrace \u201cimprovements&#8221; in your life. It might take some convincing and adjustment to your everyday habits, but the outcome is greater than where you started.
