Don\u2019t tell but I\u2019m having a love affair with avocados! It feels perfectly natural that I love a fruit that loves me back! Actually, It\u2019s not a big secret in our home that I love avocados. I buy them by the bagful and keep them front and center on our kitchen island ready for my heart\u2019s devotion.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe others don\u2019t see the depth of avocados. They may think avocados are only good in guacamole! No No I love them morning, noon and night. Try them on toast, in salad, in pasta, smoothies, soups and so much more! The avocado has a silky smooth texture that I adore adding to all sorts of recipes. Consuming enough potassium helps lower blood pressure, lowering the risk for heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Loaded with Fiber:<\/strong><\/span> A serving of avocado has 7 grams of fiber, which is over 25% of the Recommended Daily Allowance. Fiber helps maintain a healthy gut environment, benefitting digestion. Plus, fiber makes you feel fuller longer, assisting in weight control.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>High in Healthy Fats:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0There are good fats and there are bad fats, but my lovely avocado is all about the \u201dgood\u201d fats that help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol.\u00a0 Like olive oil, most of the fat in avocados is oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid. Avocados have even been certified by the American Heart Association as heart-healthy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Tips for Avocado Lovers:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/avocadosfrommexico.com\/how-to\/how-to-tell-if-an-avocado-is-ripe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Choose a variety of ripeness<\/a> when buying avocados . Avoid those with soft spots or flat areas indicating it\u2019s already too ripe. If it is brown it is already overripe. Pick those with a yellow-green color under the stem.<\/li>\n<li>Ripen on counter for 4-5 days.
