There are a number of ways to add items to your pantry.
To add items by category, such as Dairy or Spices, click on the green category (or subcategory). While categories are designated by a green label, specific items are designated by a yellow label. You can add as many items as you would like by clicking on each.
To add only one or two items, start typing the item in the “Add items to my pantry” field. When you see the correct yellow labeled item, click on it.
For items not found on the list, you can click “Custom Item” to place the item in your pantry. While Custom Items will connect with your Grocery List (e.g. Running Low), note that these items will not be connected to Meal Plans (e.g. Use Soon) or the Recipe Box (e.g. Search Recipes).
When you indicate “Use Soon”, the Meal Planner will attempt to use the item in the next set of meals generated, until you uncheck “Use Soon”. If your indicated profile does not allow the use of that ingredient, or if all available recipes are outside of the nutritional bounds for your profile, the Meal Planner will be unable to use the ingredient.
While on the PANTRY MANAGER page, click on the Options icon and choose “Search Recipes”. The Recipe Box will open, displaying only recipes that use the indicated item. Add one or more recipes to your meal planner by clicking the calendar icon to the right of the listed recipe.
The meal planner will only use ingredients from your pantry if you indicate, “Use Soon”.
Clicking on “running low” will add the item to a reminder section on your grocery list and prompt you to add selected items to your list. You will have the option of not adding and it will remain on your reminder list until you remove from Running Low or otherwise purchase the item.
Click on “frequent purchase” and the ingredient will appear as a suggestion to add to current and future grocery lists. To undo, click Cancel Frequent Purchase. Members tend to use this feature for items such as milk, bread, or bananas.
