Your Privacy at DinnerTime

We don’t put our privacy policy in the footer of our website. We put it up top, front and center. Why? Because we think it’s important enough to you, and to us, to discuss more openly.

At DinnerTime, we take your privacy personally.

Your personal information belongs to you. Period.

Not DinnerTime. Not a third party. Not an employer. Not anyone, but you.

Why We Collect Personal Nutritional Information

Our mission is to encourage and enable people to eat healthy, delicious meals together at home, more often. Our sophisticated meal planning technology works to eliminate the stress and strain of deciding “what’s for dinner,” so the whole process is simpler, easier and more affordable for you. More Personalized. More Savings. More Smiles.™ The more you share with us about your preferences (budget, schedule, nutritional goals, dietary choices, tastes and more), the better your DinnerTime experience will be. That’s what we’re all about — creating a lifestyle solution that really fits you and your life. And we want to help you “do” dinner better than any other meal planning solution.

DinnerTime as a Wellness Benefit

If you are using DinnerTime as part of any wellness benefit program, we want to ensure that you are informed about what is shared and what is not. Many employers and health plans are choosing to actively encourage their employees and/or members to use DinnerTime, recognizing that families who plan ahead and shop ahead will be happier and healthier, with less stress. In order for you to be eligible for wellness rewards through your benefit program, we measure your usage of the DinnerTime system. HOWEVER, usage does NOT mean personal information. It means your overall engagement: Did you log in? Did you create a meal plan? A shopping list? Did you rate recipes? Share recipes with a friend? And so forth. Each of these activities earns points. We will report your points to you so that you can see how you and your family are doing. The more active you are, the more points you earn. Your points may be shared with your employer for the purpose of measuring engagement and eligibility for rewards; however, we will not share your individual dietary preferences or your nutritional settings or other such personal information with your employer. Any reporting on goals and nutritional trends that we provide to employers is shared in aggregate, anonymously, to help employers understand trends in overall company health and wellbeing. To better assist you and your family in your personal wellness journey, and to enable research on the impact of DinnerTime usage on various health risks and wellbeing, we may provide certain identifiable information to your health plan and other authorized recipients. These authorized recipients could include your medical provider, your health coach, or others engaged in personally assisting you and your family. This shared information could include your name, email address, goals, dietary choices, activity levels, and other such data. If your medical provider, health coach, health plan or similar organization referred you to DinnerTime (“Wellness Sponsor”), we may provide information to your Wellness Sponsor and may receive information from them useful for analytical purposes to support you, your family and the larger community of members. However, DinnerTime will only share personally identifiable information with a third party with whom we have a contractual relationship assuring the same level of privacy care that we provide to you. At no time will we share your information with any third party seeking to use your information to market products or services to you other than those provided by the party sponsoring your membership in DinnerTime. Your privacy is always of utmost importance so all data sharing of any kind is only intended to benefit you and your family, and to better understand how to help families like yours. Through the DinnerTime community, we are all part of a movement to eat better, while saving money and reducing stress. Bringing families back to the dinner table more often, healthier and happier. Empowering individuals to sustain positive nutritional choices, increase energy, and feel better for a lifetime. And building relationships through the sharing of food and community.

“Happiness now being served” TM

How We Earn Revenue

The primary revenue that supports DinnerTime comes from employers who pay for the service and provide it as a “free” Wellness Benefit to their employees in order to help their most valued resource — their people — balance the demands of work and life, all while saving serious money and eating healthier. Employers recognize that DinnerTime can play a pivotal role in building a culture of good health, both within their company and within the families of employees. Studies show that employers who invest in the wellbeing of their employees significantly outperform their competitors, as measured by:

Likewise, health plans are increasingly recognizing that using DinnerTime actively has a measurable impact on the health and wellbeing of their members, right away and over the long term. With chronic health conditions driven by nutritional choices, such as heart disease, diabetes, metabolic disorder, many cancers, as well as other health conditions, representing more than 50% of all healthcare costs, it’s no wonder that DinnerTime is becoming a foundational part of progressive health plans! Whether provided through one’s employer or through the health plan, encouraging members to eat healthier more often is simply good business. DinnerTime also earns revenue from fitness clubs, doctors’ offices, health coaches/nutritionists and other organizations that want to provide DinnerTime membership as part of their health recommendations and services. In addition, we earn revenue through retailers and food suppliers who offer healthier products and services consistent with the meal recommendations requested by our users. Through DinnerTime, these businesses can get highly targeted promotions, offers and products in front of our members seeking to improve their nutrition—content that’s relevant to specific dietary goals, tastes, etc. And they can encourage and reward DinnerTime members for making more meals made-at-home rather than resorting to take-out and fast food. DinnerTime focuses on providing relevant suggestions and offers which actually benefit our users.

It’s our goal to attract high-value offers — in a clutter-free way — that are tailored to your needs and preferences. So while DinnerTime only suggests meals, recipes and products that actually fit your personal preferences (and are good for you!), how those preferences are defined is personalized and under your control. The more you use DinnerTime, the better we can filter out brands, products and offers that are less useful to you, and deliver more of the ones you really want.

How Our Business Model Empowers Consumers

While no two families are alike, DinnerTime gives voice to millions of consumers who can tell the food industry what they really want and need just by using our meal planning and shopping service. If all of those voices are asking for healthier, delicious meal solutions, retailers and food suppliers will respond to demand. The more people who actively use DinnerTime, the more influence we can have on the food industry!
