DinnerTime’s Commitment to the White House Challenge to End Hunger and Build Healthy Communities
Press Release: April 11, 2024
DinnerTime has been recognized by the White House and CDC Foundation for our commitment to bring AI-powered, healthy meal planning and sale-smart grocery shopping free to all Medicaid-eligible families in communities across the United States as part of the White House Challenge to End Hunger and Build Healthy Communities.
The Challenge is a nationwide call-to-action to stakeholders across all of society to make bold commitments to advance the goal to end hunger and reduce diet-related diseases by 2030—all while reducing health and food access disparities. The Challenge is part of the National Strategy on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health.
“DinnerTime is honored to be recognized by the White House for our commitments to investing in social, nutrition and health needs for all Americans,” said DinnerTime Founder and CEO Laura Moore.
“We are excited to collaborate with others in the grocery, healthcare, public health and philanthropy ecosystem to empower underserved consumers to live happier, healthier lives, saving time and money, while enjoying delicious meals tailored to their unique needs, regardless of income or zip code.”
DinnerTime’s healthy meal planning and money-saving tools make it much easier and more affordable to enjoy delicious, nutritionally dense meals, using on-sale ingredients from more than 85,000 grocery stores in the US.
DinnerTime’s commitments in 2024-2025:
- provide these capabilities free-of-charge to all Medicaid-eligible families nationwide in partnership with health plans and providers, Medicaid Managed Care Orgnizations, pharmacies, grocers, and others.
- incorporate SNAP and WIC benefits, as well as relevant produce prescriptions and healthy eating reward programs; and
- address food inequities within food deserts/swamps in coordination with national and regional grocery delivery partners.
These collaborative efforts will improve the lives, health and wellbeing of millions of families and directly address the catastrophic human and financial costs of chronic disease in the US.
