Favorite Your Favorite!

Here is a common conversation in our home:

Ok, I didn’t really give my son the details about my DinnerTime Recipe Box, but I did think to myself how smart I was to “favorite” that recipe so I can find it easily any time.

It’s one of my favorite (!) DinnerTime features. DinnerTime has many functions that help me customize our meal plans to fit our family’s needs, tastes, schedules and so much more. Favoriting a recipe is one of the more interesting “clicks” I  choose. If I have favorited a recipe it means one of two things…either I had rave reviews from the tasting committee (aka my family) or it’s a recipe I want to try in the future.

On the one hand, I value the DinnerTime Meal Planner’s suggestions, but I also love searching for recipes in my DinnerTime Recipe Box. I’ve always loved reading recipe books and now I get to search so easily for all sorts of recipes. If I see a recipe that intrigues me but I’m not ready to add it to my weekly Planner, I’ll add it to the Favorites section of my Recipe Box. I just click on the heart icon on any recipe page or the recipe search page, and the recipe will be added to the Favorites file. I’ll wait until we have tried the dish to rate it. I had a couple of recipes I really enjoyed but my family weren’t fans, so I removed them from my Favorites.

Once I had added 10 entrees to my Favorites, the system automatically created a new profile called “My Favorites”. Now I can choose recipes that I have favorited right on my Planner. To access the Favorites profile, click the gray bar at the top of any calendar day, and a drop-down of available profiles will appear.

I’m not the only DinnerTime member to use this feature. There are thousands of recipes that folks have “favorited”. Our team did a little digging to see which of our yummy recipes were favorited the most. It wasn’t a surprise to learn our members repeatedly favorited easily-prepared simple recipes. The top favorited recipes are all tried and true, uncomplicated, quick, need only a few ingredients, and are easy to make.
